Mirko Bratuša

Mirko Bratuša studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Ljubljana, Slovenia from 1984 to 1989. He continued his studies from 1990 to 1992 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Munchen, Germany, under Professor L. Kornbrust and in 1993 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Düsseldorf, Germany, under Professor T. Cragg. In the same year he completed graduation studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

He has given several individual exhibitions and has participated in numerous major international presentations. Some of his works are permanent installations and are held in national collections. Since 1997 he has lectured as a professor of sculpture at the Pedagogical College of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In 2006 he received the very prestigious Prešeren award for art.
